FLOATED THOUGHTS: TIME WITH NII AYI SOLOMON, POETRY PERSONALITY OF THE MONTH

Yeeeyy!!! Thank God it's Friday! Let the fun begin here with Nii Ayi Solomon, our poetry personality of the month. For the month of June, we'll be enjoying some poems from him every Friday on FLOATED THOUGHTS.

Biographical Information

Nii Ayi Solomon lives in Accra, Ghana and is a published Poet and playwright. He uses his form of poetry to tell the story of the African and how unique they are. His poems have been published in web hosting literary magazines some of which include the U.K Poetry Library, Kalahari Review in Botswana, just to mention a few.

Some of his plays include the love of Mamavi, Homeless and the Barber and the Apprentice.

He is the Creative Director at Village Minds Production, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and an HND in Tourism from the Cape Coast Technical University. He is a firm believer of excellence and currently working on his novel.

THE PARCEL

How do you react when you receive a parcel? Excited and eager to see what it is right? Now what happens before we finally see the real thing? We unwrapp, don't we? Of course we do! And we do it excitedly in spite of how difficult it could be. And when we can't do it ourselves, we ask for help right?

Some parcels are wrapped in such a way that, you'll need tools to unwrap and open. If you have ever received a parcel from my mom, you'll know how unwrapping a parcel can give you stress and probably get you depressed.

Some parcels are also fragile and need to be opened with care
Some parcels also have very simple wrappings with no wahala.

Most often, before something good and worth having comes our way, we go through a lot of hardships and challenges. Some are very depressing, some are not so difficult, while still, others can make you nearly hopeless.

It is quite sad that during the difficult moments, we're hardly able to keep up the excitement. There's…

IN THE LAND OF IMAGINATIONS: WAKE ME UP!

EPISODE 1

Brrrrrrr... The phone rang.
Raising her hands up in the air, she made a fist and hit the bed vigorously. She tried to guess who could be calling her at that time of the night. Silently wishing it should be Randy, her boyfriend.

She'd found very difficult to fall asleep because she'd been thinking about Randy's recent change in behavior and attitude and just when she'd began to drift off to sleep, there was her phone, ringing due to the heartlessness of someone who wouldn't allow her to sleep she thought.

With a frown on her face, closing her eyes tight and covering her face with her pillow, she still stayed in bed hoping that whoever it was will stop calling so she could sleep in peace. But the she thought; what if it's him?

"Oooooooohhh oh! Who could it be?" She wondered as she reluctantly got off her bed to answer the call.
